How Long Will Recovery Last for Teeth in a Day?

Dental Atlanta

One of the biggest changes you can do to enhance your appearance and build your self-esteem is to have a stunning, beautiful smile that you feel confident flashing. If you’re missing teeth, or your teeth are severely misaligned and broken, this can have a massive impact on your life. A full beautiful mouth of teeth is not impossible, especially with Teeth in a Day. When you receive Teeth in a Day from Buckhead Cosmetic & Family Dentistry, you’ll walk out of our office with a luminous smile and ready to step back into your daily life with renewed confidence.

What are Teeth in a Day?

Also referred to as fixed hybrid dental bridges, Teeth in a Day are a type of dental implant that replaces the entire upper or lower rows of your teeth. Used to treat several missing and terminal teeth, they are affixed to your gums using four to six titanium rods per dental arch. Once they have been implanted, your Teeth in Day will fuse to your jawbone so you can get the bright, balanced smile you have always wanted.

What is the Recovery Process for Teeth in a Day?

One of the greatest advantages to receiving Teeth in a Day is that the implantation can often be complete in a single afternoon. While you may experience some minor discomfort and tenderness directly following your procedure, you should be able to return to work and resume your normal activities the day after your surgery unless otherwise instructed by our team.

If you experience swelling, bleeding, or bruising of the gums following your procedure, we will recommend you take over-the-counter medicines like Ibuprofen (Advil) or Acetaminophen (Tylenol) to manage your pain. In some instances, we may prescribe you medication that can be filled at a pharmacy. While overall recovery should be pain-free, if these symptoms persist or worsen in the days after your surgery, contact our office to schedule a follow-up appointment.

The evening after you have received your Teeth in Day, we may advise you to rinse with salt water as opposed to brushing and flossing to prevent irritating your gums. When engaging in your oral care routine in the days following your procedure, use a soft-bristled toothbrush and avoid vigorous brushing.

For a brief period following your surgery, you should eat softer foods like applesauce, yogurt, and oatmeal until your gums have healed. Avoid foods that are chewy, hard, spicy, or too hot/cold to prevent harming your gums.

How Long Will Recovery Last?

While you can begin enjoying your healthy new smile immediately following your Teeth in a Day surgery, the osseointegration process for your implants will take three to four months. This is the time in which the bone will fuse to the titanium screws so that your implants will remain firmly in place. During this process, you will attend a post-operative visit to ensure you are healing properly so you can enjoy your healthy new smile for years to come!
